Your first week: the daily loop
How a daily session works, and how to build a streak that actually moves your marks.
Captivate Exam Hub is built around one habit: a single, finishable revision session each day. The app composes it for you — quick recall first, then the reviews that are due, then questions on your weakest knowledge points. This guide walks through your first week.
Reading the Today card
Today is one card. Along the top: the date, a countdown chip to whatever is nearest (an exam, or a school task you have added — the chip says which), and a Start button. Beside it, the daily-goal ring fills with the minutes you actually study, with a “Plan needs ~N min/day” line from your exam planner. Underneath, a ledger of every exam date you have entered with days to go. If a school task is within two weeks, a “Task prep first” card sits above the session with that task's three actions for the day.
One daily session
- Open Today and press Start — the card shows your session for the day.
- Start with the flashcards step: quick recall of definitions, terms and formulas.
- Clear your due reviews next. These are questions and cards whose scheduled return date has passed — the highest-value minutes of your day.
- Work the weak-spot questions the loop picked from your shakiest knowledge points, and mark yourself honestly against the solutions.
- Finish the session. Your streak ticks over and the daily-goal ring fills with the time you actually studied.
Tips
- Small and daily beats big and occasional — 20 focused minutes every day outperforms a three-hour Sunday.
- Rate and mark yourself harshly. Your ratings drive the schedule and the readiness forecast; generous marking only hides your gaps from yourself.
- Add real exam dates to your subjects — the countdowns and exam-day projections get sharper.
Watch out for
- Skipping due reviews to do 'new' work — due items are precisely the ones you're about to forget; they come first for a reason.
- Cramming one subject for a week while the others pile up due reviews — the loop spreads work across subjects on purpose.
- Refreshing the page hoping for an easier session — the day's session is snapshotted and stays put.
