About
About Captivate Exam Hub
The short version: a daily exam-revision app for Australian senior students, built from real past-exam questions and the published science of memory, priced per subject, and careful about what it promises.
What it is
Captivate Exam Hub builds you one finishable revision session a day: quick recall first, then the reviews your memory is about to drop, then past-exam questions on your weakest knowledge points. Behind it sit spaced-repetition scheduling (FSRS), timed practice sits under exam conditions, and an exam-readiness forecast that tells you honestly where you stand, subject by subject.
It's self-serve and student-owned. There are no school logins, class codes or teacher dashboards; you pick your state and subjects, and the app builds around them. Queensland (QCE) content is rolling out first, with other states starting on baseline content until their own is live.
Who builds it
Captivate Exam Hub is built by Jason Keyt, a Melbourne secondary teacher of mathematics, science, chemistry, computing, VET IT and Algorithmics since 2000. Jason spent over a decade as a Year 12 Year Level Leader guiding senior cohorts through VCE — the academic tracking, the exam preparation, the pathway counselling — and later led a senior school across Years 10 to 12, overseeing assessment schedules and exam readiness programs. This app is the revision system he spent those years wishing every student had.
It grew out of Captivate Education, the assessment platform Jason founded for teachers, and is built with the same care for student data: security-by-design and data-governance controls, backed by formal cybersecurity training. The company behind it is JEK Industries Pty Ltd (ABN 66 105 223 501), and you can reach us any time at contact@captivateexamhub.com.au. That address goes to the person who builds the product, not a ticket queue.
Why it's built on learning science
Most study tools are built around what feels productive. We built around what the research says works: retrieval practice over re-reading, spacing timed to the forgetting curve, interleaving of confusable topics, relearning to criterion, and confidence calibration. Every mechanic in the app implements a published finding, and the science section on our homepage lists all nine references.
If you want the techniques without the app, we've written them up honestly in our evidence-based revision guide. The science is nobody's property; the app just automates it.
What we will and won't claim
Our readiness forecast is a compass, not a promise. It's a statistical estimate with a likely-score range, built from your coverage, accuracy and recency. It guides where to focus; it does not guarantee a grade, and we won't tell you otherwise. You'll notice the same restraint across the site: we describe what the product does, and we don't promise outcomes no one can promise.
Where the questions come from
The past-exam questions in the app come from official exam papers, used within their licence terms. Queensland external assessment papers are published by the QCAA under a Creative Commons (CC BY 4.0) licence, which is why QCE content leads our rollout, and every derived question carries its attribution. Other states' papers are licensed differently, so their content will be rolled out over time as licensing agreements with each exam authority are put in place. Captivate Exam Hub is not affiliated with or endorsed by the QCAA or any other exam authority. The full picture is in our Copyright Notice.
How we handle your data and AI
- No third-party advertising cookies and no third-party analytics or tracking tools. Our Privacy Policy covers the rest.
- AI features are guardrailed: hints escalate one nudge at a time and never hand over answers. AI-generated content can still be wrong, so check important points against your official study design — our AI Use & Accuracy notice says so plainly.
- Stop paying and nothing is deleted: your account goes read-only and your progress stays saved.
Try it, or just take the science
There's a 3-day free trial with no card required. And if you never sign up, the study guides are free and cite their sources. Either way, questions and feedback are welcome at contact@captivateexamhub.com.au.
