Set up: your state, your subjects, your exam dates

The three answers the app needs before it can build you a plan — and what each one changes.

Captivate Exam Hub builds your revision around three answers: where you are, what you're sitting, and when. Setting all three takes a couple of minutes, and everything after it — the questions you see, the plan, the countdowns — follows from them.

The three steps

  1. Your state, under Account. Exam content differs by state: past papers, study designs and command terms all come from your local exam authority, so this scopes every question you'll be shown. Queensland (QCE) is live today; the other states and territories are in development.
  2. Your subjects, from the Subjects page — choose “Manage subjects”. Your selection drives which past exams and flashcards you see, what the daily loop schedules, and what you pay if you subscribe.
  3. Your exam dates, from the Progress page — tap the pencil beside a subject's countdown. We prefill a sensible default; real dates make the plan and the exam-day projection sharper.

What setup builds

Once the three are in, the Today page has a session waiting for you, and Progress has a week-by-week plan running to your first exam — including roughly how many minutes a day it takes to be ready.

Watch out for

  • Picking subjects casually — they lock for the calendar year, and your monthly price follows your selection.
  • Leaving the prefilled exam dates alone when you already know the real ones; the countdowns and the plan's pacing both hang off them.
  • Expecting content for a state that isn't live yet — check the Subjects and states page before setting up around it.
